Park Slope, 1901

A romanesque revival adapted for a family of five.  In conjunction with a restoration of the historic interiors and an extension to expand the kitchen, our mandate was to bring warmth and vitality to the space. We centered the parlor floor design around Sheila Bridges’ Harlem Toile, in response to our clients’ desire to counter the brownstone’s European figurative motifs with representations of Black bodies.

Completed in 2023.
